Fallston Fire and Ambulance Company took a new approach to leadership three years ago. Some of our priorities were recruitment and retention, identifying what was affecting the decline in membership, how leadership could improve, embracing its members, and being more community-driven.
We continue to have the largest recruitment and retention efforts in Harford County.
Fallston VFAC is seeking community members who would like to join in a supporting role:
- Support our meeting hall rental to community and family groups
- Handle scheduling, supplies, etc. for fire safety, injury prevention and other community risk reduction programs
- Manage our website content; execute mass mailings
- Facilitate fundraising events, such as bingo, bull roasts, and raffles
- Facility maintenance
With calls for emergency service increasing, required training and administrative meeting attendance, our first responders are finding less time available to handle these supporting roles.
Being a volunteer with a Harford County Fire/EMS department brings with it many benefits including a healthy state income tax deduction, a LOSAP (Length of Service Award Program) with retirement benefits, scholarship opportunities, professional development and leadership training and much more.
Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Co. also offers:
- Bingos
- Food Truck Events
- Open House
- Fire Safety Walk
- Fire & EMS Fund Drive
